Expectations and the working environment.

The working environment is different to what we know, that is a fact. We leave school, or university, with an idea of who we are as a personality, in that environment. Maybe we are insecure, or suffering after a trauma, which has affected us. We might have been told, that we are number one, and that we are all winners, while we were growing up. It doesn’t matter, things have changed. We will likely be working with older people, senior, or not, that have ideas about where our place in the working environment is. At this point, forget, but that is illegal, attempt to prove it. When we come up against challenging situations, we must stop and think. Reacting to comments, without knowing why, is dangerous. Being aware of our thoughts and behaviours, allows us to modify them. Instead of simply reacting, reason and respond. We must communicate with the people we work with; this can be difficult when we are reacting to the environment, and are highly stressed. Our inability to do this, will lead to an unenjoyable working life. Levels of anger, stress, anxiety and depression will grow, along with insomnia and a lack of appetite. When this situation goes on long enough, it’s unbearable, which leads to life itself being the same. We must change the situation, before it changes us.
