Expectations and the working environment (b).

Expectation or not, when we enter into the world of employment, our life has changed. How we deal with the working environment, is of paramount importance to our overall health and wellbeing. We meet new people, and where on the surface they are friendly and helpful, they can often hold an underlying agenda. This obviously, isn’t the case for everyone in that environment, there will however always be a percentage. Getting caught up in other people’s drama, is detrimental to our life. We all have something going on in our own lives to deal with, adding theirs, is not a good idea. Becoming aware of, what we’re being told, why and where it’s coming from is important. While we learn, not to take things on face value. Instead, to give it some thought, make a decision about it, and to not over analyse everything. Also, that we all hold a subjective view of the world. We should concentrate on what we are doing, not what they are doing. Stop comparing ourselves, to who they tell us they are, and what they’ve achieved. Taking time out to relax, exercise, and take ‘me time’ leaving work at work, not bringing it home. With an attitude of work smarter, not harder, we have the potential to become highly productive individuals, while remaining healthy and enjoying life.
